Explanation

On-Chain

Exchange Flow tracks how many coins move onto and off major exchanges. It adds up the daily balances held on a list of major exchanges and takes the change from one reading to the next as net flow: positive when the combined balance rose, negative when it fell. A 7-day moving average smooths the daily noise, and the verdict banner ranks the latest week of net flow against every week on the chart. Past weeks with a similar flow are listed with the price change that followed, as a look back at what happened. Whale alerts list large on-chain transfers, and the table shows the five exchanges holding the most coins.

Quick Tip

Read the 7-day average together with the verdict banner: the average shows the recent direction, and the banner shows how unusual that week is against the chart's own history. Both describe the past, and neither says what comes next.

Methodology note: Balances come from CoinGlass as daily readings for a list of major exchanges, starting in mid-2024. Net flow is the change in the combined balance. Coins can move for many reasons, such as a withdrawal to a personal wallet, an exchange reorganising its own wallets, or a trade, and the data cannot tell these apart, so the chart describes which way coins moved and not why. The similar-weeks panel shows summary figures only when at least five independent past cases exist. It describes the past and is not a forecast.
